EQALIS have been engaged by a leading investment bank in the City of London to create custom network monitoring solutions to improve service levels and reduce operational costs.

The service has been developed with the use of Splunk to monitor and alert on Cisco 802.1X port usage. The customer already uses traditional red/green monitoring tools but chose to use EQALIS and Splunk for this requirement as they found customisation of their existing tools to be time consuming and costly.

They also plan to use Splunk to quickly drill down into their data and find the root cause of their outages as they currently grep through their syslog log files to find evidence of problems. With Splunk, not only can they find the cause of the outage, they can easily set an alert to notify if the incident ever happens, in real time.
